Five journalists have been selected for the first-ever ‘Kalyan Barooah Award,’ presented by NGO My Home India in collaboration with the North East Media Forum. The award, instituted to honor the late senior journalist Kalyan Barooah, recognizes individuals contributing significantly to highlighting Northeast India’s issues in the national media.

Ranju Dodum, a freelance journalist from Arunachal Pradesh, stands out among the awardees in the Print Media category.

The ceremony, scheduled for December 11, will also honor journalists Partha Jyoti Borah (Electronic Media), Gitika Talukdar (Photography), and Binod Tamang (Freelance Videography). Veteran journalist Deepak Dewan will receive a lifetime achievement award.

The ‘Kalyan Barooah Award’ serves as a tribute to Barooah’s dedication and aims to celebrate journalists’ impactful contributions to Northeastern narratives.
